Chips and Dips New Year’s Eve Style


I know, I know – it’s not even Christmas and now we’re talking New Years!   I just couldn’t resist sharing this fabulous idea with you – and you know New Year’s it just one week later; so whether you are hosting the party or just bringing food to the party – How Fun is This!

Waffle Cookies

With all the holiday baking that needs to get done, it’s nice to have an option that does not need to compete for precious oven space. These cookies, as I am sure you may guess, are cooked in a waffle iron.  And let me tell you, it will be love at first bite.  These are so good, it is hard to keep any of them from entering my mouth as soon as they come off the iron.

Waffle Cookies

Ingredients:

2/3 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 cup butter, softened, plus more

Walnut Scotchies

Christmas Time always seems to include a lot baking and cookies. Sometimes, I love a big fat cookie.  One that is just a little crisp around the edges and soft and chewy in the middle.  And here we have it.  These are big cookies and they are quite delicious, if I do say so myself.  But I do love new cookie ideas, so what are your favorite holiday cookies?

Walnut Scotchies

English Toffee


Can you have Christmas without toffee?  Not at my house . . . Every family has Christmas Traditions – toffee is one of ours; no matter what other goodies are around, there has to be toffee for Christmas!  This recipe is my mother’s – we’ve been making it as long as I can remember.  I love it because it’s simple; no special pan, no candy thermometer, and you can make it in under 20 minutes from start to finish!  Don’t get discourage if your first batch isn’t just right – once you get the feel of it you’ll love it
