Milk & Cookie New Year’s Toast for Kids

It is the end of 2013, it was a great year, but I am looking forward to a new year.  A new year always seems like a fresh start.  A time to reflect and commit.  I am a big fan of New Year’s Resolutions and have been thinking about what I would like to accomplish this next year.  For one, I would like to paint my bedroom.  I have hated it since we moved in almost 4 years ago and always say I am going to paint it.  I think that 2014 is going to be the year that this

Slow Cooker Apple Cider

Nothing is better to me on a cold windy day than a warm cup of apple cider. This slow cooker Apple Cider is great for get-togethers where people may be coming and going. Slow Cooker Apple Cider

Ingredients:

2 quarts apple cider or apple juice
2 cinnamon sticks
1 tsp whole cloves
1 tsp whole allspice
1/2

I LOVE a good dinner party with good friends.  So when Avocados from Mexico contact me and asked me to host a dinner party using some of Rick Bayless recipes with Avocados from Mexico; I jumped at the opportunity.

We had a great night, even the kids got in on all the action.  There were no complaints about dinner, which like never happens.  Nothing goes better with good food than good friends, good conversation and a lot of laughter.

Chips and Dips New Year’s Eve Style

I know, I know – it’s not even Christmas and now we’re talking New Years!   I just couldn’t resist sharing this fabulous idea with you – and you know New Year’s it just one week later; so whether you are hosting the party or just bringing food to the party – How Fun is This!

While you’re out doing your Christmas shopping, pick up a plastic top hat at the party supply store to fill with chips, add a couple of martini glasses (these are inexpensive acrylic) to fill with your favorite dips.  Mmm . . . maybe guacamole and
