Brown Sugar and Bacon Green Beans

In a flash Halloween is over and Thanksgiving is right around the corner.  In preparation for the big feast, these green beans are an easy and incredibly good side dish.  Do you see all that bacon?  Add butter, brown sugar and seasoning and of course they are good!  I have to admit when I first tried these beans I was a little skeptical about the addition of soy sauce, but it works perfect and these beans are fabulous.  Have you made your Thanksgiving menu yet?

Brown Sugar and Bacon Green Beans

5 (14.5 ounce) cans green beans, drained

8-10 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled (more if desired)

2/3 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup butter, melted

7 teaspoons soy sauce

1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Place the green beans in a 9×13 baking dish.  Sprinkle the bacon over the beans.  Mix the Sugar, butter, soy sauce, and garlic powder and pour over the beans.

Bake 20-25 minutes or until beans are hot and sugar completely dissolved. Stir and serve.

*Note:  Substitute 4 (12 ounce bags of frozen beans), or use fresh.  Bake for 30-40 minutes or until tender.
