Green Monster Smoothie

Is one of your new year’s resolutions to eat healthier, or to maybe eat more fresh fruits and vegetables?  I have heard a few statistics on those that set new year’s resolutions and actually keep them.  I have yet to hear one that impresses me.  It seems that the majority of resolution setters do not meet those by the end of the year.  I must admit, I probably fall too often into the category of not achieving my resolutions.  But this is my year to break through that barrier.

So if you are trying to eat healthier this year, this smoothie is here to help you.  This smoothie is packed full of protein and it tastes delicious.  I love smoothies’ they make me feel so healthy.  Plus they are so easy to make, throw everything in the blender and hit the button.   A Green Monster is a great start to any day.

Green Monster Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 banana
1 Tbls. peanut butter
1/2 cup greek yogurt
1 cup almond milk (or use whatever milk you have on hand)
4 cups fresh spinach
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
handful of ice
1-2 tsp. chia seeds, optional

Directions:

Place everything in your blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy immediately.
