Gingerbread Spice Syrup {and Printable Tag}
I’ve been having a good time this year coming up with some creative and fun ways to say Merry Christmas without a lot of baking and fuss. The main reason is that I haven’t had use of my kitchen this month. Really? Who remodels their kitchen in December?? In my defense, I really thought all this would be done weeks ago {Big Sad Sigh}. Here’s a little peek into my world lately. I can'[t wait to have my kitchen back. I’ll share an updated finished photo soon I hope!
Recently a friend asked how early I had to get up in order to cook, take photos and get my recipes on Caramel Potatoes. It really doesn’t happen that way . . . I haven’t even been able to make dinner for some time. Knowing this was coming up, I made up my Christmas goodies in November and then just schedule them for later. {Yes, our families always get their holiday favorites a little early}.
Now back to this yummy syrup . . . I found this recipe here and it looked so yummy I knew it would make a great fast and easy holiday gift. This Gingerbread Spice Syrup adds the wonderful flavor of Christmas to lattes and hot cocoa. You’ll also love it on pancakes, waffles, and French toast.
Use the printable tag below to wrap this up and share it with your friends!
Gingerbread Spice Syrup
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups water
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 tablespoons ground ginger
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
Directions
Combine all ingredients except the vanilla in a medium saucepan.
Bring to a boil over medium heat, then turn heat down slightly and simmer until slightly thickened (to about the consistency of maple syrup), about 10 to 15 minutes. Swirl the saucepan as necessary to help the sugar dissolve, but don’t stir.
Once thickened, turn off heat and add the vanilla.
Cool, and then pour into a lidded glass jar for storage.
Makes about 1 1/2 – 1 3/4 cups.

Mmmm…gingerbread latte sounds great!
Sounds delicious and pretty too! But I am totally in love with those windows! Can’t wait to see more!
Any idea of how long this lasts / if it needs to be refrigerated? I think this would make a great gift, but I’m wondering if it can survive mailing.
I keep this in the frig for weeks – I’m not sure about the mailing! Let me know if it works…
Mine tastes yummy but it ends up like sludge at the bottom of my cup. Is that normal?
