Pumpkin Chess Pie with Praline Pecan Sauce
It’s definitely that time of year to start thinking PIE. So what’s your favorite for the big day? At my house everyone has a different opinion – so that means lots of pies! And who doesn’t like a little taste of each??
This Pumpkin Chess Pie is a simple variation on the classic favorite, but the show-stopper here is once you pair it with the Praline Pecan Sauce, you’ll have a true favorite favorite that is simple irresistible.
Be sure to make plenty of the praline pecan sauce – be sure to try it on the apple pie too, it’s great on ice cream, brownies, cheesecake, or to package up and give as a gift – love it!

Pumpkin Chess Pie with Praline Pecan Sauce
Ingredients
1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
1 (15-ounce) can pumpkin
1/2 cup half-and-half
3 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 F. Beat pumpkin, sugar, and butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth. Add eggs and next 6 ingredients, beating until blended. Pour filling into prepared pie crust.
Bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until almost set. Cool completely on wire rack. Chill 8 hours. Serve with Praline Pecan Sauce.
