Making Pixie Sticks with Freeze Dried Fruit

What kid doesn’t love pixie sticks?  And what parent doesn’t cringe a little as their child pour straight sugar down their throat?  Well, now kids can have all the fun of eating pixie sticks with just a fraction of the sugar.  I won some serious “cool Mom” points by making these for my kids.

These pixie sticks are so fun, they would be great for after school snacks, parties, Valentine’s Day, Halloween and the list goes on.  There is a wide variety of freeze dried fruit available, so experiment with flavors.  What’s going to be a favorite at your house?

January is somewhat of a quirky month.  Most of us set resolutions to eat better.  The first couple of weeks of the month there were lots of healthy eating and exercise pins floating around on Pinterest. Easy Jelly Donut Holes


Donuts are kind of a big thing in Texas.  You can find a cute little donut shop on almost every corner.  They are open in the wee hours of the morning, but be careful, if you are not there by 8 am, chance are you won’t get your favorites!  Most youth activities here involve donuts because they are so easy and inexpensive.  I thought everybody had an abundance of donuts, but talking with out-of-state friends I’ve come to learn that is not the case {so sorry}.   No need to worry, you’ll love these easy-to-make donut holes even more  – I
