Easy Orange Chicken
I think my kids could live on Panda Orange Chicken; and because there is one just down the road, they eat it a lot! So when I spied this recipe to make a version at home I knew I couldn’t pass. I love that this comes together and so fast and while it may not be quite as fast as the drive-thru, I feel like it’s much healthier! My Panda-loving son thought it was great!
Easy Orange Chicken
Ingredients
3 cloves garlic, minced
½ cup honey
½ cup orange juice
⅓ cup soy sauce
¼ cup rice wine vinegar
5 tablespoons cornstarch (divided use)
½ teaspoon ground ginger
½ teaspoon white pepper
zest of one orange
pinch of crushed red pepper flakes, more for serving
2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
salt and pepper
2 tablespoons oil
orange chicken sauce
3 thinly-sliced green onions, optional for serving
sesame seeds, optional for serving
Directions
In a small bowl mix together the minced garlic, honey, orange juice, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, 3 tablespoons of cornstarch, ginger, white pepper, orange zest, and crushed red pepper flakes. Set aside.
Place the chicken in a bowl and stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with salt and pepper to taste. In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium high heat. Add the chicken and saute until it is browned and cooked thru (7-9 minutes). Remove the chicken to a plate.
Add the prepared sauce to the chicken pan. Stir until the sauce thickens. (If it is too thick add a little water). Return the cooked chicken to the pan and stir to combine thoroughly.
Serve over rice (I like Jasmine) and top with green onions and sesame seeds, plus a little extra red pepper flakes.

At what point do you add the other 2 tablespoons of corn starch please? Sounds yummy.
