Maple Glazed Grilled Salmon
I absolutely love grilling season – not just because I can usually get my husband to do the cooking {although that is a great perk}, but also because everything tastes so fresh and fabulous hot off the grill.
One of our favorites on the grill is salmon. I created this maple glaze a few weeks ago and we’ve already made it several times. Talk about fast, easy and delicious!
We like it with roasted red potatoes and green beans, but rice or just a salad is good too.
Love Salmon? You should also try it with Blueberry BBQ Sauce! Want more? Here’s a few other great ways to enjoy Salmon: Cedar Plank Salmon with Honey Pepper Glaze, Salmon Foil Dinners (you could easily put these on the grill), Northwest Salmon Salad, Crock Pot Cedar Plank Salmon,
Maple Glazed Grilled Salmon
Ingredients
1/3 cup maple syrup
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon cider vinegar
1/4 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh basil leaves
sea salt and fresh ground pepper to taste
4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on
olive oil
Directions
Prepare glaze by whisking together the syrup, mustard, vinegar, thyme, basil, salt and pepper in a medium sauce pan. Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Set aside.
Pat the salmon dry and rub both sides with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Rub the grill grates with oil. Place the salmon skin side up. Cover the grill and cook 2-3 minutes. Using a flat spatula, carefully flip the fillets over and brush the top with the glaze. Cover the grill and continue to cook until the salmon is opaque in the center, about another 2-4 minutes depending on thickness. Transfer to a platter and spread with a little more glaze. Serves 4.
We eat salmon regularly – so easy and one of our favorites! I’ll definitely give this glaze a try!
