Candied Jalapenos {Easy}

Easy Candied Jalapenos

I love the contrast between sweet and hot.   As much as I enjoy hot flavors,  I do have my limits -Maybe I’m just too much of a baby to take the heat!  For me it seems when you add a little sweet, the heat is easier to take  {hmm, seems like Mary Poppins was right all along about that “spoonful of sugar stuff}.

These Candied Jalapenos are so easy to make and a great staple to have in your frig.  You’ll love the sweet/hot combination.  Spoon them over cream cheese for a wonderful appetizer on game day or when friends drop in.  Your friends and family will be begging you for the recipe!

You’ll also love having them available for sandwiches and burgers, or even to toss in with potato salad.

Here’s the fun part – there are only two ingredients!  These little gems are so easy to make.  Start with a jar of sliced jalapenos – I recommend buying the hot ones.  Drain the juice and just add  sugar.

Mix the sugar and jalapenos.

Now just place the jalapenos back in the original jar and wait!

I warn you – you may want to make a double batch, these are a little addictive!

Candied Jalapenos

Ingredients

1 (16 ounce) jar HOT sliced jalapenos

1 cup sugar

Directions

Empty the liquid from the jar and pour jalapenos into a bowl.  Add sugar and stir to combine.  Spoon jalapeno and sugar back into jar.  Put the lid on tight and place them in your refrigerator for 1-2 weeks.  The sugar will dissolve and turn to liquid.  You may want to turn the jar upside down once or twice to make sure it all dissolves.

That’s it!  You’ll find you love these so much you want to make a larger jar!  {Costco sells 1 gallon jars!}  Just keep the same sugar ratio- but a little more less works fine!
