Citrus Smoothie
We love smoothies at our home. Sometimes for breakfast, sometimes for a great afternoon snack, and sometimes they bring new life to leftovers for dinner! This Citrus Smoothie is perfect for all three of those categories.
To start all you need is fresh red grapefruit, an orange, and an lemon . . . mmmm, I can almost smell the freshness of the citrus from this picture.
We’re going to use the zest for even more fresh citrus flavor. Then, all we add is Greek yogurt and a splash of honey {optional}. Blend it with some ice cubes for a completely healthy, delicious, and refreshing drink.
This Citrus Smoothie reminds me a little of an Orange Julius only without all the added sugar. Plus is has an extra punch of flavor from grapefruit. This is one smoothie you will totally enjoy – so will you kids {yeah}.

Citrus Smoothie
Ingredients
1 orange
1 lemon
1 ruby grapefruit
6 ounces (3/4 cup) plain Greek yogurt
2-3 teaspoons honey or agave nectar (optional)
1/2 cup ice cubes
Directions
Remove zest from orange and lemon; set aside. Cut a slice off from the top and bottom of the orange, lemon, and grapefruit; then cut in half. One by one, place them on a cutting board flat side down and remove all the peel and white pith with a sharp knife, exposing the flesh. Chop the fruits and remove any seeds. Place the fruits into a blender with half of the orange and lemon zest, plus the yogurt, honey and ice cubes. Blend until smooth and pour into 2 glasses. Sprinkle with remaining zest. Makes 2 smoothies.

This looks so refreshing – got it pinned.
I couldn’t wait to try this – I love it. It does taste alot like an orange julius. I can’t believe it’s just citrus and greek yogurt. My kid loved it too! Thanks.
Looks good 🙂
